    Overview

Aguçadoura is a test site located in the north region of Portugal, under the management of WavEC and OceanACT from 2021 onwards. This test site includes a 3MW export cable, which may be used for the testing of wave energy and floating solar devices, at both full scale or partial scale. A process to update the existing infrastructure is currently underway, including a 3-input subsea hub installed offshore. The test site can be used to test robotic devices, aquaculture infrastructures, as well as ocean monitoring and cleaning systems.
Aguçadoura has been used for the test of several innovative devices, notably the AWS Archimedes, the Pelamis, the Windfloat Prototype and, starting from 2021, the CorPower device.
