    Overview

Chinese Marine Energy Center (CMEC) is located in Zhaitang Island of Qingdao, which owns good and typical natural conditions in China. Qingdao National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology (QNLM) and Ocean University of China (OUC) are cooperatively planning and constructing CMEC by international standards under the support of Shandong provincial government and Qingdao municipal government. It is due to be established for the first phase of the project at the end of 2021 when two berths will open for service, of which one is for wave energy and the other is for tidal current energy.
