The Mutriku Wave Power Plant was commissioned as an Oscillating Water Column-based power plant to supply energy to the power grid. As a test site, it has been designed to allow testing and demonstration of PTO systems and, in particular:- air turbines;
- air valves;
- power generators & converters;
- control strategies;
- energy storage & power quality equipment;
- sensors;
- other ancillary equipment.
To ensure suitable levels of safety for personnel and the environment, certain minimum technical requirements must be met. These are set out in the BiMEP Installation Guide. -
