The Zhoushan tidal energy test site is designed from 2012 and start to construct in 2016. It is designed as a full-scale prototype tidal current energy devices testing and demonstration site. The site is located at the Eastern China costal areas in Zhejiang province. It has good tidal energy potential and three berths as well as one demonstration berth designed based on energy resources. Furthermore, the convenient facilities and manufacture improve the ocean energy from infancy to commercialization -
Number of Berths 3 Water Depth 20-60 m Min Water Depth (m) 20 Max Water Depth (m) 60 Avg Water Depth (m) Annual mean significant wave height Maximum recorded wave height Mean (averaged current speed) 2.5 m/s Maximum current speed Maximum tidal range Mean wind speed Max wind speed Seabed type rock Total test area (km2) 2 Distance to land 1 km Grid connected Y Grid connection capacity 300 kW Rated export capacity and connection 300 kW Proximity to nearest harbour (km) -
